Whereas, the Zorgos Project is a city-wide reading group of “The Bullying Antidote”; and
Whereas, the Zorgos Project has been building and strengthening parent networks in Oakland, and expanding positive parenting practices and philosophy through reading, learning, and sharing; and
Whereas, the Zorgos Project has helped Oakland parents protect their chidlren by raising awareness about Adverse Childhood Experiences; and
Whereas, the Zorgos Project has distributed three thousand copies of “The Bullying Antidote: Superpower Your Kids for Life” with the intention of creating reading groups that encourage communication, connection, and support for positive change;
Now, therefore I, Mayor Libby Schaaf, declare October 15th, as part of National Bullying Prevention Month, as
“Zorgos Day”
in the City of Oakland.
